Our Story

“WorldWisePartners has its roots in the formative global experience of its Managing Global Partner, Dr. Linda Myers, who was selected by Ruth Bader Ginsburg from among 5,000 New York City students to serve as a U.S. youth ambassador to a multinational CISV Village in Sogne, Norway.

Childrens International Summer Villages was founded after WWII by noted psychologist Dr. Doris Allen (1901-2002) who envisioned intercultural exchange as the cornerstone for creating peace in a world that had seen too much war. The working model became a multi-national ‘village’ in which delegations — 4 young people and their chaperone — from 10 different countries spend a summer to explore their cultural similarities and differences.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg first learned of CISV while she was conducting legal research in Sweden, and returned home to establish its first U.S. chapter in New York. She sent her own daughter to a Village in Austria.

Dr. Allen was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize (1979, The Year of the Child); awarded the Medal of Freedom (1999) by the President of the United States; the Hague Appeal for Peace Prize (2001); and the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education (2001). Today, as CISV, the global organization Dr. Allen built marks its 60th anniversary, Villages continue to thrive in different countries across the globe every summer.


Dr. Myers continued her ‘passionation’ for all things global, first studying overseas at the undergraduate then graduate level, and working overseas, building working relationships around the world, and leaving her calling card of generosity and goodwill.
